“Bombay Pavilions by the Arabian Sea” is Alexandra Ranken’s exotic collection inspired by trips to Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur - India’s Rajasthan area. Using her paintings that are digitally enhanced onto chiffon, Waratah and Dilli fabric, Alexandra’s designs are then interwoven and sewn together by local seamstresses with fabric sourced from Bombay a huge city that produces some of the finest linens and Indian silks.
Today she presents flowing capes, sequenced flares matched with silk turbans and halter neck dresses matched with faux fur Pashminas and bows. Alexandra also designs her own range of clutches using her paintings. She will use these to accessorise some of the outfits worn by the models.
